found sound

I’m curious to know what you make of this little sound file that I just acquired on the black market?

It’s marked as track 13 “Who’s got the crack” boy a band called Moldy Peaches

Maybe it’s like the boring firesign theather.

Jon Stewart’s comments on his now-legendary CNN’s “Crossfire” appearance. Can you say that stuff on national T.V.??

Where did you find this? And what were you doing when you found it?

It sounds like a woman setting up different voices for a phone dating scam of some sort. Except the last bit. That was just… not good.

Or perhaps she’s just practicing different voices and using the personals section for lines.

I would have to listen to it again to render a final decision, and I’m not listening to it again.

It’s not the Moldy Peaches. Actually, it’s weird that you said that, Steve… Linette’s listening to the Moldy Peaches in her office right now.

Nope, this tape was cut by a guy I know in Portland. My guess is that the woman’s an actress working on different characters. I thought that it was interesting, but I’m easily amused. (Remember, I blog for fun.)

She’s reading Craig’s List, right? That’s exactly how I like to read Craig’s list.

She’s reading personals from some college rag newspaper. It was fun to listen to her try on the different voices, but kinda creepy when she lapsed into different languages. I wonder how many women really speak English, Spanish *and* Arabic?

Yeah, it kind of freaked me out when she changed languages so abruptly. I wonder if she was actually translating as she was reading, or if she was just making shit up.
