salinger takes the bait
I should have guessed that once I announced the birth of my cute, young daughter, that Id finally get a response from JD Salinger. (He’s always had a weakness for young Maynard women, you know.)

I don’t see how he could possibly compete with the syrup made out of corn sweeteners. Besides, last I talked to him, he was lending the Seymore Glass name to Chiquita and was working on a the Teddy brand children’s pool safety helmet for himself. I think the memo, er, postcard is fake. And, yes, let’s string up Dan Rather for this debacle.
