It seems as though the Bush administration is intent on cracking down on the inexpensive pharmaceuticals that are flooding into the US from Canada Wait. Before you say that this is just the Bush administration kowtowing to big pharma, hear them out. It actually has nothing whatsoever to do with protecting their margins in the US market. No, it has to do with (cue scary music) terrorism! Heres a blurb from CNN:
“Cues from chatter” gathered around the world are raising concerns that terrorists might try to attack the domestic food and drug supply, particularly illegally imported prescription drugs, acting Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Lester M. Crawford says.
Crawford said the possibility of such an attack was the most serious of his concerns about the increase in states and municipalities trying to import drugs from Canada to save money.
Absolutely fucking shameless. These people will use terrorism for anything and everything under the sun. Is there any topic they have not used terrorism for? Stem cell research? Gay Marriage? Im sure there must be an angle that would help their agenda. Surely Osama bin Laden could weaponize stem cells to give us all Alzheimers. And I know that Arab men must be using gay honeymoons as cover for their trips to scout out American landmarks Let’s get with it, Mr. Rove. We expect more from you.
How many fucking times can you cry wolf before the people in the US stop listening? Everyone else in the world stopped listening long ago.

And I have little doubt that in the coming months we’ll hear about threats to polling places in historically Democratic precincts. It wouldnt surprise me at all.

By the way, have you been following the developments in the contract murders of Toronto billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman? The killing was done in a fashion so as to make it easy to frame Barry’s nutty nephew. But it’s pretty clear it was a job carried out by the established Toronto syndicate, on order from big pharma competitors.
Don’t get me wrong though. I’m a big fan of the Toronto syndicate. The GTA is one of the safest big metropolitan areas in North America. Not a lot of people get plugged around there who aren’t first offered a way out. Some people are just so stubborn, and don’t take helpful warnings seriously.
