like locusts, they descended

Linette, Clementine and I were beset by hoards of visitors this weekend. It wasnt necessarily a bad thing, but it knocked this powerful locomotive that we know as MM.com off its tracks for a little while. For that, I apologize.

I will try to post more tomorrow, but here are some of the highlights from the weekend.

On Friday night, an old high school friend came to visit with his wife and daughter. (His daughter has remarkably long eyelashes, eyelashes that could catch flies.) He and I sat around drinking beer and reflecting on just how amazing it is that we each have daughters, and, perhaps more significantly, women in our lives who permitted it all to happen Heres a photo of my friend playing with his daughter while I change my daughters diaper in the background. If I had the time to rummage though some old boxes, and run over to the scanner, Id show you what we looked like 20 years ago. Then you might begin to appreciate just how mind-bending this scene really is, and just how truly fortunate we both were to find beautiful women willing to enter humanitys gene pool with us.

Then, on Sunday, our friend Patty came over to see the baby and bring us up to date on the goings-on in Chicago. Our pleasant visit, however, came to an abrupt end when she caught our lovely little urchin reaching into her pocket and pulling out a ten spot.

Lots of other stuff happened too, but its late, and I need to catch up on my sleep.

Good night, my invisible friends.
