lets talk about you for a change

So, how did you spend the Fourth of July? Leave a comment and let me know. As for Linette and me, not much has changed. Were still just hanging around the house, waiting for our little bundle of joy to start his or her trip down the birth canal.

We didn’t do anything special for the Fourth. We just sat on the porch, talked in the dark, and smelled the burning gunpowder… or whatever it is that they put in bottle-rockets to make them explode.

We heard little fireworks going off all around us, but we couldn’t see anything. We could just smell the burning. It was nice. We sat there on the porch and talked about the baby and all the stuff that had happened over the course of the past twelve years, since we were both students, sitting on her porch on the other side of Ypsi. We’ve lived in LA, Atlanta, Washington, DC, and here we are, back in this little town, just a mile or so away, getting ready to start a family. It was a nice talk. I was absolutely positive that she’d go into labor once we were done thats how it would have happened in a movie but the baby decided to stay in, like that groundhog who determines spring.

And, its good to hear from you Steph, even if you are covered in melted cheese. (For what its worth, I typically like things a lot better if theyre either deep fried or covered in melted cheese.)

So, what did the rest of you do for the holiday?
