some optimism from time magazine

Time magazine has an interesting piece in the issue now on newsstands. Its an exploration of how things are really going in Iraq, outside the area known as the Sunni triangle. Essentially, the reporter concludes, after visiting 30 towns and interviewing hundreds of people, that, yes, theres a lot of crime, and things are pretty lawless, but that people seem to be, at the same time, a little drunk with their newfound freedom. All in all, Id say it paints a pretty positive picture Its worth remembering that not everything is as bleak as what were seeing out of Baghdad.
