On this date in 1783, Gen. George Washington bid farewell to his officers at Fraunces
Tavern in New York. It seems only appropriate that I should choose today, my dear readers, to officially call it quits. I’d like to thank you all for your support and encouragement over these past few months, but I have simply lost interest in doing this. Now, I have made up my mind, is the time for me to throw myself wholeheartedly into the study of modern dance.

I always knew that this day would come, the day I finally gave in to my muse and accepted my true calling as an inspirational figure in the world of dance. Today is the day I stop hiding behind verbal and written communication, and accept the mantle of greatness that has been foreordained. My body will, from this day forward, do my speaking!

Goodbye forever my proud little officers.

Take good care of one another.
