OK, it’s Sunday morning now and I feel a bit better. I think I’m going to make an effort to leave the house today and perhaps even get working on some of the projects I’ve set off to the side these past few weeks. This entry is kind of a reminder to myself.

First, the new issue of our magazine, Crimewave USA, is almost done. We’re thinking about making a few changes now that we’re back, like adding a story on our trip to Italy. Otherwise it’s about ready for the printer. I’d say we’re 90% there. One problem that may slow us down however is the fact that the SubPop ad we want to run on the back cover has the word “fucking” in it. Have I mentioned this before? Well, our printer seems to be a religious zealot in the true spirit of the Taliban and we think that he, or one of his employees, might object. A few years ago we tried to sneak a drawing of a nipple in and one of the printers apparently saw it and broke down in tears. We got a call telling us that the nipple would have to go. So, that “fucking” might pose a fucking problem. As for why we use these guys, it’s because no one else even gets close with regard to price. Apparently all that God stuff keeps them from screwing their customers too. It’s a complex situation.

Second, the new car. I know I kind of dropped the subject of the Hybrid once I shelled out the money and bought it. I apologize for that. I love the car and I promise to fill you all in on the happenings since purchasing it. Believe it or not, there are quite a few of you out there who care about this.

Third, the art auction. I went down into the basement to see what I had for auction and I realized that I hate most of what I’ve done in the past and I’m embarrassed to show it now. I guess you’ll have to wait for a while to see my paintings up for bid here. Sorry.

Fourth, the Monkey Power Trio record. I need to spend some more time on our 2002 record. We taped about seven hours of us goofing around in Athens, Georgia. Now we just need to devote some time to picking songs and mixing them. I’d like to get the damned record out early next year.

So, those should be my priorities, or at least some of them. Crimewave, my art, and Monkey Power. The car thing just falls into the category of shit I’ve promised you and haven’t delivered. You can add the Italy trip there and some other stuff. I need to make a concerted effort to keep you folks better informed. After all, you are the reason I get up every morning and push my ass out the door. If not for you, I’d surely be dead.
